Windows Problems
Anchors and Local Files with Default Browser
Windows strips anchors from local file urls when you request the url using the default browser. This problem only affects local file urls. Http urls do not suffer from this problem. You can get around this problem by using browser targetting.
Anchors and Local Files with IE 7
It has been reported that IE 7 does not support/honor anchors on local file urls. There is no workaround for this other than using a different browser.
